Interval Cancer Audit Database (iCAD)
Description
An Interval Cancer refers to an identified breast cancer occuring within 3 years of a screening test with a negative result. Therefore the recording and audit of Interval Cancers provides clinicians with a measure of Breast screening effectiveness. iCraft's Interval Cancer Audit Database facilitates both the collection and reporting of such patient screening data.
History
- 2001: iCraft undertook a bespoke development for the East Midlands Quality Assurance Reference Centre (East Midlands QARC).
- 2002: An additional module was added to the ICAD system to allow cross-matching of pateints against external systems such as the Trent Cancer Registry or local Surgical lists etc. This module allows data management staff to ensure that all Interval Cancer patients are correctly reported within the system.
- 2003: iCraft upgraded the original application to run using the latest version of the Microsoft Net framework.
- 2004: The North West Breast Screening Quality Reference Centre (NWBSQARC) purchased the system to aid in the facilitation of Interval Cancer Audit within the region. Minor amendements to the East Midlands system were made in-order to cover extra data collection items, and different matching data sources.
